Centre Point Prime Hotel Pattaya
Affordable Apartment-Style Hotel with a Water Park, Perfect for a 4-Year-Old
10-Night, 11-Day Thailand Trip with a 4-Year-Old
May 2024
I found the Centre Point Prime Hotel Pattaya while looking for an affordable hotel with a water park for the last 5 days of our Thailand (Pattaya) trip. After returning from Koh Samet, we planned to spend the remaining 5 days exploring around, and since our flight was in the evening on the last day, we didn’t need a hotel for the night. I figured it would be a waste to book an expensive hotel just for a few hours.
On the first day after checking in, we had some fun in the water, and we did a couple of short sessions on other days, but honestly, we spent most of our time outside the hotel.
The Centre Point Prime Hotel Pattaya gets really crowded on weekends with locals, and on weekdays, there are a lot of groups of Chinese and Korean tourists. During breakfast hours, it took forever to get an elevator.
Since it’s a big hotel chain, I tried booking directly on their website, but kept running into errors on the payment page, so I ended up booking through Agoda. I reserved a Grand Deluxe King room, which has a separate living room and bedroom, for AUD 83 per night. I booked 5 nights in total, but we only stayed for 4 and checked out on the last day in the evening before heading straight to the airport in Bangkok.
Hotel Location
When I made the reservation, I checked the distance to Terminal 21 shopping mall, and it was less than a 10-minute drive. Since we had a rental car, I thought the location was convenient and, being a bit on the outskirts, parking would be easier.
In reality, though, during the day, it took about 15-20 minutes to get from the hotel to Terminal 21. It’s not far, but with the traffic, it felt like a bit of a long journey, especially since we ended up making that trip multiple times a day.
I think the affordable price of the Centre Point Prime Hotel Pattaya, even with its water park and apartment-style rooms, was due to its location.
Water Park
As soon as we arrived at Centre Point Prime Hotel Pattaya and checked in, we unpacked our bags in the hotel room and headed straight to the water park.

The Centre Point Prime Hotel Pattaya’s water park has a wave pool as its main attraction, and the waves were stronger than at Space Pattaya Hotel, which made it more fun. The waves are turned on every 15 minutes, so there was plenty of action.
The pool area has the wave pool and an infinity pool on the hotel building. There are also three water slides, as you can see in the pictures, and even the infinity pool has a small water slide.
At Space Pattaya Hotel, the water slides were a bit too high and long for Liam, and the slides had a tube-like structure, so he only went on them once and didn’t try again. But at Centre Point Prime Hotel Pattaya, the slides were just the right size for Liam, and he loved going down the tallest one repeatedly. Although I thought the tallest slide might be a little risky for someone Liam’s age, there were two lifeguards standing by the slide. They told Liam that he couldn’t go on when the wave pool was operating, but other adults and older kids could go whenever they wanted.
We spent several hours alternating between riding the waves during wave time and sliding down the water slides once the waves were over.
Next to the wave pool, there’s a small kiddie pool, and there’s also a kids’ club, but those were more suitable for younger children, so Liam found them a bit too babyish.
Grand Deluxe View Room

The living room was spacious enough to be very comfortable. On one side, there was a sofa, so we could sit and relax, and next to the bathroom door, there was a sink, which made it really convenient to wash fruits or anything else. Honestly, I liked the sink because I thought I’d need to wash Liam’s water bottle, but throughout the trip, Liam just drank straight from a plastic bottle and never used his personal water bottle. The large fridge next to the sink was also really nice.Next to that, there was a table with two chairs, making it easy to sit and eat or do other things.
Having a living room space is such a great benefit when traveling with a child. Liam could play with his toys, draw pictures, and just hang out without feeling cramped. The spacious area felt like home, and it made everything much more comfortable.

The bathroom at Centre Point Prime Hotel Pattaya was honestly not great. The shower floor was made of plastic, which didn’t feel very “hotel-like.” I was a bit disappointed with the bathroom, but after a day or two, I got used to it. Another issue was that the smell didn’t disappear right away after someone used the bathroom, which was a bit uncomfortable.
At the end
I guess there’s really no such thing as “bang for your buck.” The Centre Point Prime Hotel Pattaya seemed like a hotel that had everything at an affordable price, but it clearly had its pros and cons.
