Affordable Hotels Near Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport

Golden Foyer Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel

May 2024

My flight landed in Bangkok at 10 PM, and originally, I had planned to head straight to Pattaya. But with all the recent flight delays and the possibility of arriving late at the airport, I decided it’d be safer to book an affordable hotel near the airport just in case.

I reserved the room on Agoda for AUD $34 per night, and I booked it based on positive reviews about how clean the rooms were. I’m really glad I did!

By the time I arrived, I was exhausted… The flight was pretty comfortable s

ce the plane was half-empty, but it was already 1 AM in Australia, so I felt extra tired.

Even though the Golden Foyer Hotel is marketed as an airport hotel, it actually took me about 15 minutes to drive there. But the good part was that there’s a famous Doi Chang coffee shop and a 7-Eleven right in front, so it was super convenient.

It’s right in front of the hotel.

It even has a pool and offers breakfast service.

Unfortunately, I didn’t take any photos of the room… ;;

But the room was clean, and it was perfect for a one-night stay.

The bathroom had a hairdryer, and pretty much everything you’d expect was there.

Shampoo, soap, and toothbrushes were provided as well.

I didn’t actually use them, though. ^^

In Thailand, with budget hotels, the rooms are usually fine, but the bathrooms can sometimes be a letdown.

Since I’m a bit picky about bathrooms and showers, I was a little worried.

Luckily, the bathroom wasn’t bad, though the water pressure was a bit weak.

The night before, I didn’t even bother to shower and just went to bed, but the next morning, I quickly showered and headed off to Pattaya.

Next Day

Even though the time difference between Brisbane, Australia, and Thailand is only 3 hours, the jet lag still hit us hard.

We went to bed late the night before, but all three of us woke up at 6 AM Thai time (which is 9 AM in Brisbane). Haha!

At first, we didn’t even think about the time difference and wondered why we woke up so early. 😂

In Thailand, the mornings start pretty late. By 7 AM, most places are still closed!

Luckily, a cafe was open, so we grabbed some coffee, then popped into a 7-Eleven for a quick bite to eat. We had breakfast in our hotel room.

(We’re not big breakfast eaters, so this was actually enough for us.)

They were selling congee, chicken, and all kinds of other food, and it all looked delicious.

But since I was with Liam, I was being a bit more careful about what we ate, so we didn’t buy anything.

We checked out at 8 AM and headed off to Pattaya!
