Discovering the Best Restaurant and Cafe in Pattaya

Pattaya Food Guide

Pattaya has so many great places to eat that choosing what to try can be overwhelming.

Since Pattaya is a coastal area, seafood is abundant, making it a perfect destination for seafood lovers. On top of that, there are so many different kinds of food to try in Pattaya. Not only restaurants, but also popular cafes like those in Bangkok are everywhere. There are cafes known for their coffee, some are beautifully decorated and famous as photo spots, and others have unique themes! If you search for food places on Google, you’ll find a lot of local favorites. It’s fun to explore and try those places!

When we visited Pattaya in May, we rented a car and checked out some famous cafes, but during this trip, since we were traveling on foot, we stuck to places that were easy to get to for meals.

We mostly ate around Terminal 21, which was just a 5-10 minute walk from our stay at Space Pattaya.

As soon as you step out of the hotel entrance, Terminal 21 is right there in front of you.

Once we find a place we like, we tend to go back to the same spot. In Thailand, no matter which restaurant you visit, there are usually about 100 different menu options, so even if you keep going to the same place, it never gets boring.

Terminal 21 Pattaya – Pier 21

Pier 21 at Terminal 21 Pattaya is a food court on the third floor. I visited this place quite often last May, but on this trip with my mom and Liam, we just looked around and didn’t actually eat here. With my mom and Liam, we couldn’t manage the self-ordering and bringing the food to the table on our own.

During this trip, we had all our meals at restaurants.

I’ve tried almost everything at Pier 21, and it’s all been delicious. The best part is that the prices are incredibly cheap. For about one-third of what you’d pay at a restaurant, you can eat as much as you want.

Seafood Curry Fried Rice and Crab Basil Fried Rice are from the same stall.

The crab omelette rice was also delicious, and we tried a variety of dishes. Everything we had was really tasty.

Soy Sauce Chicken Rice Bowl and Soy Sauce Chicken Pho –

we couldn’t try the pork knuckle rice bowl… But they did sell it here, and it seemed really popular. Everything we tried was delicious.

The mango shop at the entrance of Pier 21. Compared to the prices at other street vendors, it’s not the cheapest, but they pack the mangoes so nicely, so I always bought mango sticky rice here. They also sell juice here, and it’s really delicious too. ><

Pattaya Terminal 21  – TUM-MAI-YUD

This place is one I visited almost every day during both this trip to Pattaya and my trip last May!

It’s a place I highly recommend!

Even though the Google reviews aren’t the best and the food isn’t extremely exceptional, there’s something about it that keeps drawing me back. It’s like a magical place I can’t resist going to!

Eating here feels like having a home-cooked meal. The flavors match perfectly with our tastes, so we really enjoyed the food.

The menu offers almost every type of Thai dish, so we came here every day and tried something different each time.

My favorite seafood dish is the fried fish topped with a sweet and sour sauce.

It’s a flavor that both kids and adults love!! We were too busy eating to take photos, but there were so many other things we ate as well.

Pattaya Terminal 21  – After You Dessert Cafe

The After You Mango Shaved Ice, which is popular among Koreans!!

To be honest, we usually search for restaurants through Google, so we’ve never really tried places that are famous among Koreans. But this time, while traveling with my mom, we decided to give it a try. And it was way better than we expected! Haha.

It seems to be popular with locals too, as there were more local people than tourists. Interestingly, the locals seemed to prefer baked goods and other desserts over shaved ice.

The After You Mango Shaved Ice that we regretted not trying earlier, so we came back the next day to have it again.

Terminal 21 in Pattaya has a different country theme on each floor, and Liam’s favorite was the Japan-themed section ><

As we were walking around the shopping center, he kept posing and asking me to take pictures, making him seem like a 4-year-old who’s already used to traveling ^^

I went to Pattaya in mid-November, and everywhere had a Christmas vibe!!

Christmas songs were playing, and there was a huge tree in front of Terminal 21 in Pattaya, all lit up. It was so much fun to see it every night.

Liam danced a lot in front of the tree, and seeing him act so freely and happily makes me think that Liam is really enjoying and feeling comfortable with traveling.

Pattaya Terminal 21 – Ginger Farm Kitchen

Honestly, I personally wouldn’t recommend this place…

We were thinking of trying another restaurant, but the reviews weren’t bad, and there were always people, so we decided to give it a shot. However, the food took nearly an hour to arrive, and it came out slowly, one dish at a time. I ordered a chicken dish, but they told me there was no chicken, so they asked me to change it to a beef salad. We also ordered BBQ chicken with papaya salad, but there was no chicken, and instead, they brought us sous-vide chicken, insisting that it was the correct dish.

What’s even worse is that we went during a time when there were only a few customers, so the place was pretty empty.

Later, we requested a refund, and when I got home and checked the receipt, I saw that they charged us for two dishes even though we only ordered one.

Usually, I check receipts right away, but since the receipt was in Thai, I didn’t notice right away. It made me feel upset, and on top of that, we were scammed. It was a really unpleasant experience. But since I was with my mom and Liam, I was distracted, so I guess this is just one of those things that can happen during a trip. The food wasn’t even good, and the prices were a bit higher than other places.

Pattaya – Trattoria Pizzeria Toscana Pattaya

A restaurant run by an Italian chef!!

I came here last May and it was so delicious, so I brought my mom here again this time.

And it was just as amazing as before!!!

It’s located on the main street in Pattaya, so we took a taxi to get there.

 Patongo Place in Pattaya

While staying at Pattaya Prime, we didn’t add breakfast, so every morning, Eddie would drive to Patongo and bring back coffee and Patongo.

If you look to the left side (towards the beach) of Pattaya Prime on Google Maps, there are some bustling areas. I saw a picture of a place selling Patongo in a market-like area, so I asked Eddie to go there. The packaging was clean and neat, so it didn’t seem like a street vendor. I didn’t visit it myself, so I can’t give exact details…ㅠㅠ

It was so delicious that we bought it every day during our 3-night stay.

I didn’t save it on Google Maps, so now I can’t find it…ㅠㅠ

Cafe in Pattaya

A cafe that had over 1K local reviews, so I was really curious about it.

The coffee is amazing! It’s strong but with a rich, nutty flavor! It felt like I was finally having a proper coffee after being in Pattaya for a while.

The handmade desserts were also delicious. It was so hot, so I had an iced latte, and since the coffee was so good, I ended up having another flat white.
